About Katherine

Katherine Rose Brannigan was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand and started having piano and singing lessons at the age of 8. 

In 2011 she started having lessons with Janice Webb going right through to her grade 8 singing exam in 2016 gaining a high distinction. 

Since 2012 - present she has competed in various singing and piano competitions around the North Island achieving a placing every time.  

In 2014 she found her passion for working with kids and teaching piano so from that, started obtaining students. Soon after this she was asked to, part time,accompany/conduct the Takapuna Big Sing. 

In 2016 Katherine was asked to teach keyboard classes at Glenfield Music Centre which opened her up to more opportunities of accompanying musicians. As well as this she also partook in a pedagogy class at Auckland University, run by Rae de Lisle, which drastically changed her way of teaching music to young children. 

In 2017 she worked at Piano Traders in Mt Eden which improved her musical knowledge of various classical instruments.  

Currently she is working part time at a recording studio, is musical director/vocal coach for the up and coming show of Oliver Twist, keyboardist for the ABBA review and numerous musical theatre productions and concerts, studying towards her singing diploma at the end of the year and in her spare time, teaches piano and singing.
